IFAD Internship Program For Students and Recent Graduates 2025

Young people provide invaluable knowledge, ideas and energy to society and the workplace. That's why IFAD offers six-month internship opportunities to recent university graduates or current students specializing in areas of work relevant to IFAD’s mission. Interns may pursue an additional six-month internship, accessing a different learning experience and broadening their exposure to IFAD’s areas of work.

Aim and Benefits of IFAD Internship Program

The internship programme provides a monthly allowance. Moreover, to further promote geographic diversity, IFAD offers a higher monthly allowance (contributing to housing and travel expenses) to interns from developing countries who need to travel to their duty station. 


Requirements for IFAD Internship Program Qualification

  • Be 30 years of age or younger.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited university or graduate school, have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies and have attended courses in the last 24 months; or have completed university studies at an undergraduate or postgraduate level within the last 24 months.
  • Be fluent in English. Knowledge of another IFAD official language (Arabic, French or Spanish) and/or any other language may be necessary, depending on the region of assignment.
