• Applicants who obtained qualifications elsewhere other than Uganda should take their secondary school academic documents to Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) located in Ntinda for purposes of being equated to Ugandan grades.

• The following documents MUST be attached to the application form:

1. Original Pay in slip from the Bank

2. One Passport size photograph of the applicants’ current likeness

3. Photocopies of Secondary School Certificates or its equivalent.

• Diploma/Degree holder’s applicants MUST attach certified photocopies of their academic transcripts issued by the awarding institutions.

• Applicants from countries where the language of instruction is not English are required to bring evidence of proficiency in English. However, Makerere University (School of Languages) conducts proficiency tests on request.

• Applicants wishing to be admitted to the Bachelor of Laws programme offered by Makerere University are required to take a pre-entry examination.

1. Candidates must be 25 years and above and must have been out of school for at least three years prior to his/her application

2. Candidates must have obtained a Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E) or its equivalent and must successfully pass the mature entry examination.

 

• Pre-University

1. Candidates who do not have the minimum requirements for entry into undergraduate programmes of Uganda Martyrs University may spend a pre-university year at the university. To qualify for the pre-university programme,

2. Candidates must have obtained one principal pass at one sitting at A’ Level in the relevant subjects.

3. Candidates must pass the pre-university examinations with an average of at least 65% and be admitted for an undergraduate programme in the same field; and will not be exempted from any courses already undertaken during the pre-university period.

For Bachelor Degree Programmes

1. Direct Entry

Applicants should have;

• At least two (2) principal passes in relevant subjects obtained at the same sitting in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education, or its equivalent.

• Obtained at least five (5) passes at Uganda Certificate of Education, or its equivalent.

2. Diploma Holder or Equivalent

• At least a second class (lower division) diploma in any relevant programme from a recognized Institution.

•  At least one (1) principal pass obtained at the same sitting in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education. Or a Certificate obtained from a recognized tertiary institution

• At least three (3) passes obtained at the same sitting in Uganda Certificate of Education, or its equivalent.

 

The Mature Age Entry Scheme

• Applicants must be at least 25 years with a working experience of at least two (2) years in the related field.

• Candidates must have sat the mature age university entry examinations accredited by the NCHE, and obtained at least 50% marks

 

Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

• Applicants should have at least a first degree, or its equivalent from a recognized university at the time of completion.

•  Applicants should have obtained the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education, or its equivalent with at least one (1) principal pass and two (2) subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting.

• Applicants should have Uganda Certificate of Education, or its equivalent with at least five (5) passes obtained at the same sitting.

 

Master Degree Programmes

• At least a Second Class (Lower Division) degree, or its equivalent awarded by a recognized institution at the time of completion.

•  Holder of a third class degree, or its equivalent, may be admitted only after providing evidence of academic growth and maturity in the desired field of study.

•  A Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education, or its equivalent with at least one (1)  principal pass and two (2) subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting.

• A Ugandan Certificate of Education, or its equivalent with at least five (5) passes obtained at the same sitting.

• No candidate who had previously attended a programme at Cavendish University Uganda shall be readmitted to the University under this scheme to a programme of study in which he/she failed to qualify during his/her previous attendance.

Master's Degree

• An applicant for a Master's degree normally has obtained at least a second class lower division degree or its equivalent from a recognized university

• An applicant with a third class (pass) degree must satisfy the relevant department and the Board of Postgraduate Studies that he/she has acquired academic and professional growth as determined by the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Research.
