Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract top talents from around the world to pursue postgraduate studies in Malaysia. This scholarship is parallel with Malaysia's aspiration to emerge as one of the global centres of academic excellence by attracting, motivating and retaining talented human capital from abroad.
Interested international graduates with outstanding academic and co-curricular backgrounds are welcome to apply for this scholarship to further their studies in leading Malaysian universities and higher education institutions with the opportunity to enjoy Malaysian hospitality and a world-class higher education experience.

Graduates from the recipient countries of MIS 2025 who:
Are citizens from the recipient countries of MIS 2025
Intend to pursue full-time postgraduate studies (Master’s/PhD) in Malaysia or are currently pursuing full-time postgraduate studies in Malaysian public universities and selected private higher education institutions with a minimum of two (2) semesters remaining before the end of the study period.
Is not more than 40 years old at the time of application for Master’s degree.
Is not more than 45 years old at the time of application for PhD level.
Possess good academic qualifications: i. Master’s applicants: obtained a CGPA of 3.00 / 2 nd Class Upper (Honours) or higher at the bachelor’s degree level; ii. PhD applicants: obtained a CGPA of 3.00 / excellent results at the Master’s level in courses related to the intended PhD study program
Good proficiency of English Language
Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria:
Outstanding academic and co-curricular achievement.
The quality of the research proposal and its potential contribution towards advancement of technology and human well-being, with a preference for Malaysia-related research topics.
Excellent communication, writing and reading skills in English language.
A certified copy of the passport as evidence of nationality (with a minimum validity of 6 months);
A certified copy of the academic transcript(s): Transcripts of undergraduate studies (together with the master’s degree transcript for PhD applicants)
Reflect the record of all the courses taken throughout the previous study programme(s) and must be submitted together with a certified official document issued by the applicant’s alma mater describing the institution’s grade system
A certified copy of English Proficiency test result (IELTS / TOEFL) or an official letter from the previous institution declaring English as the medium of instruction used for the obtained degree(s)
Letter of Recommendation from two (2) referees
Admission letter to Malaysian university (if applicants are currently undertaking postgraduate studies or if applicants have secured admission to the university)
Curriculum Vitae; and vii. Research Proposal for Masters by Research and PhD applicants only
