Civichive was Founded in 2017 as the innovation centre of BudgIT, Civichive was set up to create an innovative virtual & physical space for partnerships and to raise civic tech leaders/solutions in Nigeria. It was also set up to improve the capacity of existing NGOs and media organizations, thereby making a huge impact within the Nigerian space.
Civichive has incubated 12 civic start-ups and supported over 70 organizations in Nigeria. Civic Hive has continued its support for existing and new organizations to push solutions that connect citizens to the government, foster institutional efficiency, and raise citizens’ awareness of social issues around them. Civic exists as an extension of BudgIT as a creative civic tech organization driven to retell the Nigerian budget and public data in a finer detail across every literacy span.
