AFRODAD Internship Programme for Africans 2026

The African Forum and Network on Debt and Development (AFRODAD) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for its July–December 2026 Internship Programme. This six-month programme offers aspiring professionals an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in policy, research and advocacy, campaigns and communication, finance, human resources and admin, and monitoring and evaluation while contributing to Africa’s economic justice agenda

Successful interns will work alongside experienced professionals, deepen their understanding of debt management, development finance, and sustainable development, and strengthen their analytical, research, communication, and leadership skills. Applications are now open for ten internship positions across various departments.

Aim and Benefits of AFRODAD Internship Programme

  • Gain hands-on experience in policy, research and advocacy, campaigns and communication, finance, human resources and admin, and monitoring and evaluation while contributing to Africa’s economic justice agenda
  • Exposure to African economic development issues, debt management, and public finance.
  • Development of analytical, research, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Insights into working within a Pan-African Civil Society Organisation.

Requirements for AFRODAD Internship Programme Qualification

  • Education - Must have completed a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Finance, Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Data Science, Development Economics, Economics, International Development, International Relations, Law, or Statistics.
  • Skills - strong analytical and written skills; as well as strong public speaker
  • A good understanding of African perspectives on development and finance and passion to advance Africa’s agenda on the global stage,
  • Ability to work remotely where necessary (AFRODAD will provide necessary support for remote working).
  • Language - English and French (For Cameroon)
  • Desire and effort to learn and grow professionally
  • Interns are required to have their own laptops and always have access to stable internet

Open Positions under: Policy & Advocacy, Campaigns & Communication, Finance & Administration, Human Resources, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning and the Executive Director’s Office.



Interview date, Process and Venue for AFRODAD Internship Programme

Duration: 6 months Location: Interns located in countries with an AFRODAD office, such as Harare, Zimbabwe, or Yaoundé, Cameroon, will report to the office full-time.

Remote working arrangements will be made for Interns in other countries.
