The Call for Applications for the first edition of Open Brazil Power is Open. This is an educational programme that aims at forging new cohorts of young energy professionals with a complete set of technical, regulatory and business skills needed to trigger Brazil’s sustainable energy future for all. For this first year the programme will engage up to 30 Brazilian individuals, with at least 50% women, in a series of professional development and leadership activities provided in partnership with top academic institutions in Italy and Africa.
Open Brazil Power is designed to equip a new generation of energy leaders with a holistic knowhow of the electricity sector to leave their mark, whether in public or private sector towards a clean energy future for Brazil.
We focus on the crucial role of clean energy to ensure a sustainable future for all. By envisioning a sustainable future – resilient and equal – boosted by quality education and an enlightened self-interest by the business community. To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:
a) Be between the ages of 24 and 35 by July 17th, 2025.
b) Be a citizen of Brazil.
c) Currently resident in Brazil or planning to relocate in Brazil within the end of 2025.
d) Having graduated by July 17th, 2025, from a PhD, MBA or Master’s degree (MSc, LLM, MPP, etc.) degree. Current undergraduate students, people only in possess of a Bachelor’s degree or people who are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree (i.e. graduate students) are not eligible for this program. At least one degree (PhD, MBA, Master’s, Bachelor’s) must be from a Brazilian University.
e) Have competences and a demonstrated interest to pursue a career – in private or public sector - in the electricity space at large.
f) Be fully proficient in English (CEFR C1 level) and be able to demonstrate this via an official language certificate or completion of at least one degree completely taught in English.
g) Willingness to promote gender equality and women´s empowerment within and beyond the programme.
