About East African Community (EAC)

The East African Community (EAC) is a regional intergovernmental organisation of 7 Partner States: The Republic of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda, the Republic of South Sudan, the Republic of Uganda, and the United Republic of Tanzania, with its headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania. The EAC is home to an estimated 283.7 million citizens, of which over 30% is urban population. Aim and Benefits of East African Community (EAC) Youth Fellowship

  • Engage with experienced mentors who will provide guidance, support and apprenticeship throughout the fellowship.
  •  Fellows may also receive a stipend or allowances to cover their expenses during the fellowship period the details of which will be disclosed to selected participants.
  • Gain access to a network of professionals, policymakers, and fellow youth leaders from across the EAC region
  • Gain access to a network of professionals, policymakers, and fellow youth leaders from across the EAC region

Requirements for East African Community (EAC) Youth Fellowship Qualification

  • Applicant should be 18-35 years 
  • Applicant should be from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, Somalia and The Democratic Republic of Congo
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Strong demonstrated leadership potential is required. Additional qualifications related to regional integration, leadership, business, economic governance or relevant fields are highly valued
