The Programmable Integrated Sensors and Microsystems (PRISM) Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta is seeking outstanding PhD/Master’s students as of July 2025. The goal of the project is to develop high-resolution microfabricationprocesses for microsystems including flexible sensors and liquid metal microfluidic systems.
Work Environment
Dr. Pegah Pezeshkpour, Director of the PRISM Lab, leads interdisciplinary research at the interface of engineering and materials science to develop scalable and reconfigurable microsystems using advanced microfabrication processes and novel materials for applications in health, energy monitoring devices, and assistive technologies. Lab members have access to state-of-the-art fabrication, testing, and characterization facilities in a collaborative research environment.
The University of Alberta is a public research university located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was founded in 1908 by Alexander Cameron Rutherford, the first premier of Alberta, and Henry Marshall Tory, its first president. Its enabling legislation is the Post-secondary Learning Act.
