Gunvor Group, a leading global physical energy commodities trader, hosts a Global Graduate Program for university students who aim to be a part of the future of the international commodities trading industry.
Program Elements
Based on the skillsets and professional focus of a candidate, they will be placed in different areas of Gunvor’s business to understand how risk management and logistics work across a trading company.
There will be opportunities to sit directly on trading desks in Gunvor’s main offices, as well as have the chance to experience the fundamentals of how an oil or biofuel refinery works on location.
Gunvor’s shipping and chartering subsidiary, Clearlake Shipping, will provide a view on the seagoing activities of a physical trader with more than 100 vessels on the ocean every day.
Nyera, Gunvor’s renewables investment vehicle, is integrated across our company’s activities, from refining to shipping, and will allow for a view on how we as a global company are navigating the complexities of the Energy Transition.

Requirements for Gunvor Group Global Graduate Prorgam Qualification
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Be a recent or upcoming graduate, with a university degree completed or expected to be completed by June 2027, in a relevant field such as commodity trading, engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related discipline.
- Have up to 12 months of professional work experience, excluding internships. For Quant candidates, up to 24 months of professional work experience is accepted.
- Be fluent in English.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, resilience, mental agility, analytical thinking, and a drive for results.
- Be willing and able to travel internationally as required.
Interview date, Process and Venue for Gunvor Group Global Graduate Prorgam
The recruitment process includes:
- Application – Submit your application through our careers website.
- Online Assessment & HireVue – You’ll complete a psychometric assessment, followed by one short pre-recorded video question focused on your motivation and interest in the program.
- CV Screening – We’ll review your experience, academic background and, where relevant, work permit eligibility.
- Math & Logic / Python Test – A 40-minute online assessment covering mental math, probability and numerical sequences. Quant candidates will also complete a Python programming component.
- Talent Acquisition Interview – A 45-minute conversation focused on your motivation, experiences and competencies such as communication, ownership, resilience and curiosity.
- Business Interview – A 30-minute interview with the business exploring your commercial awareness, critical thinking, technical foundations and learning agility.
- Assessment Day – The final stage includes two panel interviews with colleagues from Front Office and other business functions, alongside a Trading Simulation for Trading candidates or a technical Python assessment for Quant candidates.
The process will run over several months, with all recruitment stages and final decisions expected to be completed by the end of the year.
