Aimed at enabling the most promising young leaders from across Africa to access an ALU education, despite financial adversity or economic hardship. The program implements a full scholarship programme and places particular emphasis on young women, refugees, and differently-abled young Africans.

The Mastercard Foundation is an international non-governmental organization established by Mastercard in 2006. The organization, which is based in Toronto, Ontario, has supported work in 49 countries.In 2018, Mastercard Foundation shifted to a specific focus on Africa, through its Young Africa Works strategy. Scholarships and grants are available to those with significant financial need.
To be eligible to apply for any Financial aid at ALU, one must first meet the Admissions requirements. If eligible for admission to ALU, an applicant will be required to provide additional information during their application which will be used to determine their eligibility for any of the financial aid offerings available at the time.

Here’s what our 3-step application process entails:
Stage 1 – Introduction: This first step is a basic form to tell us a bit about who you are.
Stage 2 – Additional Information Section: On successful completion of the Introduction, you will be asked to provide additional information and upload required documents to support your ALU application.
Stage 3 – Finances: This final stage will help you to understand the financial contribution you will need to make in order to support your ALU studies. Additionally, you will find out if you qualify to apply for ALU financial aid.
