Morocco FinTech Accelerator (MFA) program by UM6P, is Morocco’s first university FinTech-based incubator and accelerator. The MFA program empowers entrepreneurs with evidence-based entrepreneurship and business design skills connecting them with a powerful network that includes faculty, expert mentors, partners and investors in only three months!
The MFA program runs in two batches per year where each batch includes around ten startups.Each intensive acceleration experience is three months long.
Mohammed VI Polytechnic University ( UM6P) is a Moroccan non-profit private research university. Its main campus is located in Ben Guerir, near Marrakech, with branches in Rabat and Laayoune. The university is an institution oriented towards applied research and innovation and is engaged in economic and human development, with a focus on African development. The MFA program is for early-stage startups that are high-growth and innovation-driven. Startups get selected through an internal rigorous process based on the novelty of the idea, scalability and commercial potential as well as the team’s track record, cohesion, tenacity and commitment to success.
We look for disruptors and innovators in various areas of Financial Technology including but not limited to core banking services, wealth management, back-office functions, regulatory compliance, AI, data analytics, payments, Insurtech, Lending and Savings, digital automation, automated marketing, gamification, privacy/data protection, and enterprise Blockchain.
Call for Applications: From 09/09/2024 to 10/10/2024
To participate in the Morocco Fintech Accelerator program, please fill out the online form and upload your startup's pitch deck (in PPT or PDF format).
Pre-Selection & Selection : From 11/10/2024 to 20/10/2024
A jury of experts from UM6P and its ecosystem will review the applications submitted within the deadline and will pre-select those that meet predefined criteria for an online pitch. These criteria include the novelty of the idea, scalability, commercial potential, as well as the team's cohesion, tenacity, and commitment to the project's success.
After the online pitch session, the 12 most promising startups will be selected for the acceleration program.
Acceleration Program (3 months): From 21/10/2024 to 24/01/2025
The selected Fintechs will receive dedicated support from industry experts and coaches, fast-track connections with program partners for business and investment opportunities, exclusive access to various Innovation Labs, and UM6P's Pool of Talents, along with perks such as: dedicated cloud – HPC – CTO on demand, etc.
