Nigeria LNG Limited 2025 Prize for Science and Innovation Awards

The Nigeria Prize for Science is an annual award established by  NLNG in 2004 to recognize and celebrate scientific excellence. It honors scientists and innovators from around the world who develop groundbreaking solutions to critical problems that can be applied in Nigeria. The 2025 edition focuses on “Innovations in ICT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Digital Technologies for Development.” The winning entry must advance knowledge and demonstrate practical solutions for a significant societal impact. The winner(s) will receive USD 100,000.

About Nigeria LNG Limited

Nigeria LNG Limited was incorporated as a limited liability company on May 17, 1989 to harness Nigeria's vast natural gas resources and produce Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) for export. The establishment of NLNG is backed by the NLNG Act. Aim and Benefits of NLNG Prize for Science and Innovation Awards

• A grand award of USD 100,000 to the deserving winner(s). This substantial award stands as a testament to the profound significance of their scientific contributions.

• The implementation of the Nigeria Prize for Science is overseen by the Advisory Board, supported by the NLNG secretariat.

• The responsibilities include overall governance and administration of the prize, appointment and supervision of judges, approval of the adjudication process outcome

Requirements for NLNG Prize for Science and Innovation Awards Qualification

• Open to scientists and innovators worldwide (Nigerians and non-Nigerians).
• Entries must demonstrate the application of science in ICT, AI, and digital technologies.
• The submission must be a completed scientific work, supported by either a proof of concept or evidence of significant societal impact.
• Only one entry per individual or group is allowed.
• Members of the Advisory Board, Panel of Judges, and their relatives are not eligible during their tenure and one year after.
• NLNG staff and their family members cannot apply during service and five years post-service.
