The Renaissance African Energy Company (Renaissance), operator of the NNPC/Renaissance/TotalEnergies/AENR Joint Venture (Renaissance JV), invites applications from suitably qualified Nigerian students to apply for the NNPC/RENAISSANCE JV University Scholarship. The scholarship aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerians. It provides a yearly grant to successful applicants for the duration of their undergraduate degree programme.
About Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is the state oil corporation which was ?established on April 1, 1977. In addition to its exploration activities, the Corporation was given powers and operational interests in refining, petrochemicals and products transportation as well as marketing. Between 1978 and 1989, NNPC constructed refineries in Warri, Kaduna and Port Harcourt and took over the 35,000-barrel Shell Refinery established in Port Harcourt in 1965.

Aim and Benefits of NNPC Undergraduate Scholarship
- The scholarship aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerians.
- It provides a yearly educational grant to successful applicants for the duration of their undergraduate degree programme.
Requirements for NNPC Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification
This merit-based scholarship is in two categories - the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award.
- National Merit Award (NM) - Open to all Nigerians
- Areas of Operation Merit Award – Open to Nigerians who are indigenes of Renaissance's operational areas in Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers States
- Must be citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Must be registered FULL-TIME undergraduates in an accredited University in Nigeria.
- Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship from an entity operating in the Oil and Gas Industry, national or international.
- Evidence of being in 200 Level, with proof of admission into an undergraduate programme in the 2023/2024 academic session
Interview date, Process and Venue for NNPC Undergraduate Scholarship
- Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the proctored computer-based test.
- Only successful candidates at each selection stage will be contacted.
- Applications must be processed ONLY through the Renaissance African Energy Company website
Documents Required for Application
- Ensure you have clear scanned copies of the following documents for upload
- Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px)
- School ID card
- University or JAMB (UTME or D/E) Admission letter
- JAMB Result
- 2023/2024 Transcript (100 level Result)
- Letter of Identification from State (Showing Local Government of Origin)
P/S: Each document attachment to the application must not exceed 200KB, and the image format must be in JPE

3. Applicants for the Operational Area Awards are required to provide scanned copies of letters of identification (which must be duly stamped and signed) by:
- The Paramount Ruler of the Community, and
- The Chairperson of the Community Development Committee or Community Executive Council (CDC or CEC)
- The letters should be addressed to: The Manager, Social Performance, Renaissance African Energy Company Limited, Industrial Area, Rumubiakani, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
