The UBC International Scholarship Program covers the cost of tuition and also contributes to living costs for selected international candidates.

The program offers various need- and merit-based scholarships for exceptional students pursuing undergraduate degrees.

Requirements for UBC Scholarship Program Qualification
- Must be an international student with a Canadian study permit.
- Applying for a first undergraduate degree at UBC.
- Must demonstrate superior academic achievement and financial need.
- Must meet UBC’s general admission requirements and English language standards.
Interview date, Process and Venue for UBC Scholarship Program
There are four main categories of awards, for which all eligible applicants will be automatically considered:
- Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award: For students with academic excellence and leadership in community service and extracurricular activities.
- Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award: For students from impoverished or war-torn areas who have excelled academically despite challenging circumstances.
- International Impact Award: For students committed to addressing sustainability, climate change, social justice, equity, and societal health.
- Vantage One Excellence Award: For students with strong academic achievements who do not yet meet UBC’s English language requirements.

- Get nominated by your school or a non-profit organization.
- Submit the International Scholars Program application by November 15.
- Apply for admission to UBC by December 1.
- Submit supporting documents by January 31, 2025.
- Award results will be announced in mid-April 2025.
