2025 LSHTM Toritse Orubu Scholarship for Nigerians

The Toritse Orubu Scholarship has provided donations over 10 years to London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) to support MSc projects undertaken by students from Nigeria.

This scholarship is open to Master’s students currently registered on any of the intensive (London-based) MSc programmes of study at LSHTM. Unfortunately, it is not available to students registered on distance-learning programmes.

About London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)

Founded in 1899 at the London Docks, LSHTM is now based in Bloomsbury, where it has two main sites at Keppel Street and Tavistock Place, and additional sites in The Gambia and Uganda. Toritse Orubu Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Toritse Orubu Scholarship

This scholarship funding will provide an MSc student with financial assistance for activities relating to their 2024-25 MSc project, including travel and research costs.

One award of GBP 500.00 will be made to the successful candidate.

Requirements for Toritse Orubu Scholarship Qualification

To be eligible for this funding, applicants must:

• Be registered on an intensive 2024-25 MSc programme of study.
• Be registered for full-time study.
• Preference will be given to students who are both nationals of and ordinarily resident in Nigeria.

Application Deadline

How to Apply

• Log in to the Scholarships Application Portal via e-vision using your LSHTM login details.
• Please search for ‘Toritse Orubu Scholarship’ if you wish to apply for this funding, and then answer all the questions online and attach any documents required as part of your application.
  • Application Form – can be accessed by clicking here. Please complete all tabs of the excel document, which includes:
    • Application Form – Complete all information on this tab of the excel document.
    • Budget – The budget should provide a full list of projected costs for the MSc project, and include justification for the costs. Please highlight which costs are to be covered by the scholarship, as well as show details of how other costs will be covered.
    • Timetable – Please provide a timetable for the project work.
  • Supervisor Letter of Support – Applicants will need to upload a supporting letter from their supervisor for the proposed project work for which they are requesting funding. You will not be able to submit your application without attaching this letter to your online application.
• Once you are happy with all your responses you can press submit and you should receive a confirmation of receipt email at your LSHTM email address.
• The scholarships portal will not be able to accept applications after the deadline stated above.
• The Scholarships team will be in touch with an outcome in due course.
