2025 Providence Ebubechi Napoleon Memorial Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship

The Providence Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship supports Black or African students pursuing higher education in English-speaking African countries. Recipients may receive up to $250 per year, which is renewable for up to four years based on academic progress and good conduct, with a total scholarship cap of $1,000. The funds may be used for tuition, room, or board expenses.

Providence Ebubechi Napoleon Memorial Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 dedicated to her legacy. Providence, fondly called Eby by family, was passionate about welcoming people. She was a devout Christian, loved people and her family and had an excellent spirit. She excelled as a lawyer and was named top 40 lawyers under 40. Eby loved to worship. Aim and Benefits of Undergraduate Scholarship

  • Recipients of the Providence Memorial Undergraduate Scholarshipamay receive up to $250 per year, which is renewable for up to four years based on academic progress and good conduct (total maximum award of $1,000).
  • Funds can be applied toward tuition, room, or board expenses.

Requirements for Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

  1. Nationality & Location:
    • Open to Black or African students studying in English-speaking African countries.
    • Must be currently enrolled in or intend to attend an accredited undergraduate program.
  2. Financial Award:
    • Recipients may receive up to $250 per year, which is renewable for up to four years based on academic progress and good conduct (total maximum award of $1,000).
    • Funds can be applied toward tuition, room, or board expenses.
  3. Renewal Requirements (for continued eligibility each year):
    • Must maintain good academic standing.
    • Demonstrate good conduct and character within the university and community.
    • Submit an updated academic transcript and a brief progress report annually.

The ideal applicant is a Black or African student who:

  • Demonstrates academic excellence and leadership potential.
  • Has a strong commitment to their community and making a positive impact.
  • Seeks to overcome financial barriers in pursuit of higher education.
  • Displays integrity, resilience, and dedication to personal and academic growth.

This scholarship seeks to uplift and support future leaders by providing financial assistance, ensuring that students can focus on their education while honoring Providence’s legacy of faith, compassion, and service.



Documents Required for Application

  1. Recommendation Letters (One Required):
    • One letter from a teacher, professor, community leader or church leader.
  2. Proof of Enrollment:
    • Documentation verifying current enrollment or acceptance into an undergraduate program in an eligible African country, upon selection.
  3. Academic Transcript:
    • Most recent academic transcript from high school or university.
  4. Personal Essay:
    • 500-750 words on:
      “How do you hope to create a legacy of compassion, faith, and dedication through your education, career, and personal life?”
  5. Resume or CV (Optional):
    • A brief summary of achievements, leadership roles, and community service.
