The Fellowship program aims to contribute to the ongoing efforts to improve journalism and seeks to encourage research in media and other fields of journalism, as well as to provide fellows with the opportunity to learn through practical experience within the AlJazeera Media Network. The fellowship’s objectives include to encourage innovation and research, provision of an opportunity for journalists and researchers to be immersed in AlJazeera Media Network’s work culture and environment, and to learn about its journalistic practices.
In February 2004, Aljazeera Media Institute was launched as a knowledge and training center that combines practice and experience with theoretical and applied knowledge in a range of training courses covering various disciplines in the communication field.
