Presidential Scholars are active and engaged members of The Honors College at EMU, complementing their academic college experience with further opportunities for critical thinking, community engagement, and leadership. Qualified students can apply for the Presidential Scholarship during their senior year of high school.

The Presidential Scholarship, covers full tuition and room and board for four years (valued at approximately $100,000).
Requirements for EMU Presidential Scholarship Qualification
- High School Senior/Incoming Freshman for Fall 2025
- Must have at least 1.) a 3.5 cumulative GPA and 2.) 25 composite ACT or 1200 SAT (Critical Reading + Math)
- SAT/ACT requirements are waived for those with a GPA of 3.85 or higher
- Must apply for admission to Eastern Michigan University and submit all official transcripts and test scores by the scholarship deadline.
Interview date, Process and Venue for EMU Presidential Scholarship
Application Deadline and Additional Important Dates
- December 13, 2024: All application materials mentioned in the application instructions (including the campus visit) must be completed and submitted by this date at 11:59 p.m. No exceptions will be made.
- Please note: You must also submit all official admission application documents to EMU by this deadline to be qualified.
- January 15, 2025: Students will be notified about moving on to the second round by this date.
- February 8, 2025: Save the Date! Selected finalists will be invited to campus for an interview
- Selected finalists that live a substantial distance from Michigan will be invited for a virtual interview

- For eligibility, your visit must be completed during the 2024 calendar year. An official campus visit is considered a campus tour, an open house, or a virtual admissions event. Find our visit options at emich.edu/visit.
