The Government of Mauritius is awarding scholarships to deserving students who are resident citizens of member states of the African Union or of an African Commonwealth country to pursue higher studies in a registered public Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Mauritius.

Through the Africa Scholarships Scheme for 2025, the Government aims to empower bright minds by providing fully funded opportunities that cover tuition, travel, and living expenses for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Mauritius.
The Objective of the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology is to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to embark on and complete higher secondary education for employability and higher and further education and training with the required maturity and confidence. Tuition Support: The scholarship covers tuition fees to assist successful candidates during their studies in Mauritius.
Living Expenses: A contribution towards living expenses is provided to ensure scholars can focus on their academic pursuits.
Return Airfare: The scholarship includes return airfare by the most economical route. This is valid for travel from the country of origin at the beginning of studies and back upon successful completion.
Age Criteria: For undergraduate programs, applicants should be above 18 years old and not have reached their 26th birthday by January 1, 2026.
For MPhil/PhD programs, the age limit is 40 years by January 1, 2026.
Program Application: Applicants must have applied for a full-time on-campus program (Diploma, Degree, MPhil, or PhD) at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius for the academic year starting in 2025.
Duration: The scholarship will be for a maximum duration as indicated in the guidelines or the minimum course duration, whichever is lesser.
