Meraki Afrique Essay Writing Competition for Young Africans 2025

Meraki Afrique in Collaboration with the GIZ African Union present this Writing Competition so that young people can showcase their writing skills and share their ideas.

Essay Theme: “No Visa, No Problem? Youth Perspectives on Intra-Africa Mobility”

This year’s theme invites young Africans to reflect on what it means to move, travel, and seek opportunity across borders within the continent. From dreams of studying in a neighbouring country to stories of relocation, cultural exchange,or even the barriers that limit free movement , we want to hear your voice. How do young people navigate belonging, identity, and aspiration in a continent that’s both deeply connected and unevenly accessible?
