The International Higher Education Scholarship Program, central to the TaiwanICDF, offers full scholarships to outstanding students from partner countries to pursue higher education in Taiwan through collaborations with local universities.
The goal is to support the socio-economic growth of partner countries through the cultivation of highly talented individuals. This program also enhances the internationalization of Taiwan's universities and expands Taiwanese youth's global perspective.
Since 1998, the TaiwanICDF has collaborated with partner universities in Taiwan to establish the Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA), creating an operational platform to leverage and optimize the scholarship program under this TICA framework.
In 2002, Dr. Sunney I. Chan, former Vice President of Academia Sinica, with the support of former Academia Sinica President Dr. Yuan Tseh Lee and former Minister of Education Dr. Ovid J.L. Tzeng, sowed the first seeds of the TIGP program in Academia Sinica.
