The International Higher Education Scholarship Program, central to the TaiwanICDF, offers full scholarships to outstanding students from partner countries to pursue higher education in Taiwan through collaborations with local universities.
The goal is to support the socio-economic growth of partner countries through the cultivation of highly talented individuals. This program also enhances the internationalization of Taiwan's universities and expands Taiwanese youth's global perspective.
Since 1998, the TaiwanICDF has collaborated with partner universities in Taiwan to establish the Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA), creating an operational platform to leverage and optimize the scholarship program under this TICA framework.
About Taiwan International Graduate Program
In 2002, Dr. Sunney I. Chan, former Vice President of Academia Sinica, with the support of former Academia Sinica President Dr. Yuan Tseh Lee and former Minister of Education Dr. Ovid J.L. Tzeng, sowed the first seeds of the TIGP program in Academia Sinica. Aim and Benefits of Taiwan ICDF Higher Education Scholarship Program
- Airfare: Round-trip economy class tickets arranged by TaiwanICDF.
- Housing: Mandatory accommodation in student dormitories.
- Tuition: Full coverage of university tuition fees.
- Credit Fees and Insurance: Coverage as required by the university.
- Textbook Costs: Subject to the approval of the institute’s director.
- Monthly Allowance: Provided to each student during the award period.
Requirements for Taiwan ICDF Higher Education Scholarship Program Qualification
- Citizenship in a country eligible for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship.
- Non-national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or an overseas compatriot student.
- Meeting partner university admission requirements.
- Fulfilling Resident Visa (Code: FS) and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) requirements.
- Not holding another ROC (Taiwan) government-sponsored scholarship in the same academic year.
- Not applying for another TaiwanICDF scholarship in unbroken succession.
- Providing the highest-level diploma by July 31, 2024.
- No previous scholarship revocation by any ROC (Taiwan) government agency or expulsion from any Taiwanese university.

- Applicants must complete an online application from December 1, 2024-March 15, 2025.
- Please go to TaiwanICDF Scholarship Online Application System to fill in your application.
- Please note that each applicant can only apply for one program at a time.
- The applicant also needs to submit a separate program application to his/her chosen university.
