University of York 2025 GREAT Scholarship for African Students

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of York is offering 5 scholarships to some international students applying for a variety of postgraduate courses.

The GREAT Scholarship 2025 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from China, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, or Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

Aim and Benefits of University of York GREAT Scholarship

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK

Requirements for University of York GREAT Scholarship Qualification

• Be a citizen of China, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, or Vietnam
• Be paying fees at the overseas fee rate (any fee assessments must be completed by 16 May 2025)
• Have met any language condition of their offer by 16 May 2025
• Hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study a one-year postgraduate taught course at the University of York by 16 May 2025 (they do not need to have accepted the offer)

Applicants are not eligible if:

• They hold a 100% tuition fee scholarship or are fully sponsored
• They are current students of the University of York (who began in a previous year)
